Raphael Hat With A Twist
10 March 2009
My mother was complaining that she was cold and needed a hat ... but that all the ones in the shop were too large for her.
This hat was made with less than one skein of Colinette Iona in Raphael - the silk in the yarn makes it beautifully soft with a gentle sheen and the merino wool and kid mohair make it warm.
I used a front-post treble to create 8 ribs around the body of the hat that naturally twisted (spiralled) out as the hat was made - and then reversed the direction of construction during the fold-back so that the twist lined up.
